A 64-year-old man has died following a scooter accident in the Morris Park section of The Bronx.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police said that on Thursday, Jan. 15, at around 10.51 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a motor vehicle collision at Waters Place and Marconi Street.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
They said that further investigation by the NYPD Highway District\u2019s Collision Investigation Squad determined that a Lime stand-up electric scooter, driven by a 64-year-old man, was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes into oncoming traffic on Waters Place when the scooter driver failed to navigate traffic and was ejected from his vehicle.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
They said he sustained severe head trauma and was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS. They said there were no arrests, the investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD Highway District\u2019s Collision Investigation Squad, and the identification of the deceased is being withheld pending proper family notification.<\/p>\n

With collision investigations, the NYPD handles all criminal aspects of the investigation, while NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) reviews the street design at the locations of such crashes.<\/p>\n
