Joseph T. Gabrielline, 93, passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 15. Born in Brooklyn on Oct. 2, 1932, he moved to the Sunnyside area of Staten Island in 1962, where he remained with his wife Margaret (\u201cPeggy\u201d) O\u2019Neill for over 66 years. After serving as an Air Policeman in the US Air Force, achieving the rank of Sergeant, he enjoyed a distinguished 25-year career with the New York Police Department, assigned to the 19th Precinct in Manhattan and serving as an Honor Guard in the Ceremonial Unit. In retirement, he was an avid craftsman, creating stained glass pieces and Sailors Valentines from shells collected during Florida winters. He is survived by his wife, son Thomas Gabrielline, daughter Joanne Frawley, and four grandchildren.<\/p>\n

Patricia F. Hennessy, 94, of Toms River, N.J., passed away peacefully on Jan. 2. Born in Richmond, she grew up in Dongan Hills and graduated from New Dorp High School before marrying Ray Golterman in 1952. She managed the books and advertising for the Lancaster Women\u2019s Shop and co-founded the Lancaster Men\u2019s Shop in West Brighton. Later in her career, she worked as a real estate broker in Bridgewater, N.J., and summered in Long Beach Island, N.J., before dedicating her time to family and artistic pursuits. She is survived by her daughter Laney Diahy, son Jeff Golterman, sisters Connie Kane and Carol Riley, 4 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.<\/p>\n

Dr. Jayne D. Rivas, 78, died on Dec. 18, 2025, at Brighton House in Boston. Born on Staten Island, she graduated from St. Peter\u2019s Girls High School and earned a Doctor of Medicine from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. Throughout her career, she worked in hospitals founded by the Sisters of Charity of New York, serving as Director of the Pediatrics Training Program at St. Vincent\u2019s on Staten Island and ultimately as Medical Director of The New York Foundling Hospital\u2019s skilled nursing facility and Chairperson of Pediatrics at St. Vincent\u2019s in Manhattan. She co-authored an organic chemistry textbook and was honored as a SUNY distinguished alumna. An active member of Sacred Heart parish, she sang in the church choir and served for 10 years as camp physician at Birch Family Camp. She is survived by her daughter Jayme Rivas Robertson, sons Luke and Mark Robertson, five siblings, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.<\/p>\n
