STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Millions of Americans buy used cars, favoring certain makes and models over others. According to a new iSeeCars study<\/a>, American used car buyers continued to favor full\u2011size pickups in 2025.<\/p>\n

The automotive research firm iSeeCars\u2019 new study<\/a> revealed the best-selling used vehicles in 2025, analyzing more than nine million sales of vehicles from 2020 through 2025 model years.<\/p>\n

Pickup trucks and SUVs continued to dominate the U.S. used vehicle market in 2025, accounting for 7.1% of all sales, consistent with previous years.<\/p>\n

According to the study, \u201cthe Ford F\u2011150, Chevrolet Silverado, and Dodge Ram remain the kings of the road,\u201d ranking as the top three used vehicles, consistent with last year\u2019s results.<\/p>\n

However, \u201cthe F\u2011150\u2019s footprint is starting to shrink at the state level. It\u2019s no longer a foregone conclusion that it will be the most popular vehicle in every region of the U.S.\u201d <\/p>\n

Even though the top three pickup trucks remained the same, the ranking for popular used cars experienced a few changes in 2025. <\/p>\n

The Chevrolet Malibu jumped to 8th place, while the Nissan Rogue and Toyota Corolla also moved up in the rankings.<\/p>\n

According to the iSeeCars study, with Malibu production canceled in 2025, rental car agencies likely released these models into the used market, replacing them with sedans still in production.<\/p>\n

The study also breaks down the most popular used vehicles by city. <\/p>\n

In New York City, residents preferred cars and SUVs rather than pickups, with the Chevrolet Equinox topping the list for used cars in 2025. The vehicle accounted for about 2.8% of all used car sales, according to iSeeCars\u2019 data.<\/p>\n
