Former Vice President Kamala Harris <\/a>was met with mockery after she accepted the key to the city of Jackson, Mississippi,<\/a> where the mayor also declared last Wednesday \u201cKamala Harris Day,\u201d in honor of her many \u201caccomplishments.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former Democratic presidential candidate, who is rumored to be mulling a second try at the Oval Office, was in the Magnolia State as part of a mammoth book tour promoting her memoir, \u201c107 Days<\/a>,\u201d when she was honored by Jackson\u2019s Mayor John Horhn (D).<\/p>\n

Former Vice President Kamala Harris was given the key to Jackson, Mississippi, last week.<\/p>\n

\u201cKamala, you don\u2019t know what you mean to Jackson, Mississippi. You don\u2019t know what you mean to Mississippi. You don\u2019t know what you mean to America,\u201d Horhn gushed, during his remarks introducing Harris at Thalia Mara Hall last Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd, in recognition of your many, many firsts, in recognition of all of the accomplishments that you have made \u2026 I signed a proclamation declaring Jan. 14, 2026, Kamala Harris Day<\/a> in Jackson, Mississippi,\u201d Mayor Horhn said, as Harris clutched her hands to her chest in a show of humility.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need you now, more than ever,\u201d the mayor added as he presented Harris with the key to the city of Jackson during the event, celebrating the reopening of the concert hall.<\/p>\n

The lavishing of awards on Harris, who was roundly thrashed in the 2024 presidential election<\/a> by President Trump, was met with incredulity online.<\/p>\n

\u201cName one accomplishment! Just one!\u201d an X user wrote, adding that the country had \u201cdodged the biggest bullet ever\u201d when she lost.<\/p>\n

\u201cQueen of cackles and word salad,\u201d added another.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019d have to ask Willie Brown,\u201d joked a third, in reference to Harris\u2019s ex-lover<\/a>, the former mayor of San Francisco.<\/p>\n

For her part, Harris appeared to take the acclaim of the crowd and the mayor of Jackson as no less than her due.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, that was a great way to start,\u201d she began her speech, before going on to promote her new book, which covers her failed presidential campaign and other life experiences<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She called Trump \u201ccorrupt\u201d and \u201cincompetent\u201d during the event, comparing him with white supremacist politician Bull Connor, although she appeared to confuse Connor\u2019s home state of Alabama with Mississippi.<\/p>\n

Harris used the Jackson event to promote her book, criticize Trump and reflect on her 2024 defeat. ThePatriotOasis\/X<\/p>\n

Harris boldly claimed she had \u201cpredicted almost everything that\u2019s happened,\u201d since Trump\u2019s reelection during the event, which was moderated by comedian and Mississippi native Rita Brent.<\/p>\n

She also opened up about emotions following her November 2024 defeat.<\/p>\n
