The team behind The Meat Hook<\/a> (397 Graham Ave.) and Cozy Royale<\/a> (434 Humboldt St.) are set to open a new local haunt. <\/p>\n

Peek Inn (38 Driggs Ave.) is opening in the former home of Greenpoint\u2019s Fin du Monde<\/a>, a French bistro that opened during the pandemic in 2020 and closed in August 2025.<\/p>\n

Peek Inn is different than Peek In Cafe<\/a> (80 Franklin St.) which is opening soon on the other side of Greenpoint in the former home of Cecily<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Co-owner Brent Young told Greenpointers that he and his team had been brainstorming names since they looked at the\u00a0space in November. <\/p>\n

Young explained that the word \u201cinn\u201d felt fitting because it\u2019s not a synonym for a bar, nor a full restaurant, nor a tavern. Plus, Peekins is a nickname for the dog of Young\u2019s business partner Mike Haigis.<\/p>\n

Young explained that the home of his latest project is \u201ca great little hidden corner that felt like you\u2019d peek in to find a seat.\u201d<\/p>\n

Young calls Peek Inn the \u201cbar version\u201d of Cozy Royale with a solid beer list, affordable wine and drinks, and some food, though they haven\u2019t solidified a chef and menu yet.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re a corner bar with everything you need, and nothing you don\u2019t. A seat at the bar, friendly faces, drinks and food that don\u2019t drain the wallet,\u201d he told Greenpointers.<\/p>\n

Young feels passionate about offering reliable neighborhood options where locals feel at home. \u201cNo one wants to invoke Cheers, but we do often, and loudly,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith all of our stores or restaurants, we\u2019ve really tried to be part of the area\u2019s fabric,\u201d Young continued. \u201cTrusty options that lead with warmth and personality.\u201d<\/p>\n

The team hopes to open Peek Inn in March. They will start with later nighttime hours only, but aim to add afternoon service. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe city needs more relaxing, inviting bars where someone can have a solitary afternoon drink and kill some hours with a friend or a book,\u201d Young said.<\/p>\n
