David Beckham made a cryptic comment about his children\u2019s \u201cmistakes\u201d after son Brooklyn Beckham\u2019s viral rant<\/a> on Monday.<\/p>\n

The retired athlete appeared on \u201cSquawk Box\u201d Tuesday morning, speaking about \u201cthe good \u2026 and the bad\u201d of social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat kids can access these days, it can be dangerous,\u201d he said. \u201cBut what I have found personally, especially with my kids<\/a> as well, [is] use it for the right reasons.\u201d<\/p>\n

The athlete appeared on \u201cSquawk Box\u201d on Tuesday. CNBC<\/p>\n

David \u2014 who shares Brooklyn, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14, with wife Victoria Beckham<\/a> \u2014 added, \u201cThey make mistakes, but children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is what I try to teach my kids,\u201d the 50-year-old continued. \u201cYou sometimes have to let them make those mistakes.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked about \u201cconstant\u201d headlines surrounding his family, the ex-pro soccer player dodged the question.<\/p>\n

David said Tuesday that parents need to let their kids mess up to learn lessons. CNBC<\/p>\n

David similarly stayed silent<\/a> at the World Economic Forum\u2019s (WEF) 56th Annual Meeting that same day when a reporter asked whether he had a \u201cmessage\u201d for Brooklyn or minded \u201cfamily business \u2026 being aired in public.\u201d<\/p>\n

He and Victoria have yet to comment directly on Brooklyn\u2019s Instagram Story tirade, which accused them of \u201ccontrolling\u201d his life and trying to \u201cruin\u201d his and wife Nicola Peltz\u2019s romance.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old declared that he does not \u201cwant to reconcile\u201d with his parents as their years-long feud rages on<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have been controlled by my parents for most of my life,\u201d Brooklyn claimed. \u201cI grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.\u201d<\/p>\n

He defended Peltz, praising his partner as someone who wants \u201cpeace, privacy and happiness\u201d for their \u201cfuture family.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

While the actress, 31, has yet to break her silence on the feud, she posted a pointed selfie<\/a> with her \u201cfamily first\u201d tattoo on display just ahead of Brooklyn\u2019s bombshell statement.<\/p>\n

Brooklyn chose to speak out<\/a> over a \u201cmassive breakdown in trust,\u201d we hear, with another insider telling us \u201cevery word\u201d of his lengthy social media upload is \u201ctrue.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

Eagle-eyed social media users, however, have flagged inconsistencies in Brooklyn\u2019s story \u2014 specifically regarding Victoria\u2019s \u201cinappropriate\u201d wedding stunts<\/a>.<\/p>\n
