STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Staten Island residents face bitter cold conditions Tuesday with temperatures only reaching the lower to middle 20s degrees. <\/p>\n

The National Weather Service warns that gusty west winds will make it feel even colder, with wind chill values dropping to single digits throughout the day.<\/p>\n

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday\u2019s temperatures are running 15 to 20 degrees below normal for this time of year, making it some of the coldest air of the season. The frigid conditions will continue overnight as winds diminish, with lows expected to reach the lower teens along coastal areas of Staten Island.<\/p>\n

Wednesday will bring slightly warmer conditions with highs in the upper 20s to 30s, followed by Thursday emerging as the warmest day of the week with temperatures climbing into the upper 30s to lower 40s. However, the relief will be short-lived as a cold front moves across the region late Thursday, followed by a second front Friday evening.<\/p>\n

The weekend forecast shows a significant return to cold conditions, with the National Weather Service indicating that a modified Arctic air mass will settle over the area. Staten Island residents should prepare for weekend highs only reaching the teens to lower 20s degrees, with overnight lows falling into the single digits.<\/p>\n

Weather forecasters are monitoring a potential snow event for Staten Island late Saturday into Sunday. While it\u2019s too early for specific details, the forecast indicates a chance of snow from Saturday night through Sunday night as a low pressure system moves off the Middle Atlantic coast.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead to next week, the extended forecast suggests below-normal temperatures will continue through at least early next week, with the Arctic air mass maintaining its grip on the New York City region.<\/p>\n
