STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 \u201cImpractical Jokers\u201d star Brian \u201cQ\u201d Quinn is taking a swing behind the scenes of one of the borough\u2019s buzziest horror franchises.<\/p>\n
On Jan. 14, Quinn revealed on Chris Jericho\u2019s \u201cTalk Is Jericho<\/a>\u201d podcast that he and longtime \u201cImpractical Jokers\u201d collaborator Joe Imburgio have written the script for \u201cStream 2<\/a>,\u201d the sequel to the 2024 slasher \u201cStream,\u201d which was produced by the Staten Island-based Fuzz on the Lens Productions. <\/p>\n \u201cWe just handed it in, me and Joe Imburgio, who is one of the writers on \u2018[Impractical] Jokers\u2019 and a very close friend of mine, we wrote the script for \u2018Stream 2,\u2019\u201d Quinn said on the show. \u201cI\u2019m so excited.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cStream\u201d marked another chapter in the growing Staten Island horror ecosystem tied to Fuzz on the Lens (the local team behind the wildly successful \u201cTerrifier\u201d franchise), and Quinn made it clear he\u2019s been a fan of their work for a while. On the podcast, he praised the original film\u2019s practical effects and appearance of genre heavyweights like Jeffrey Combs and Tony Todd. <\/p>\n According to Quinn, the sequel opportunity came together organically after the \u201cStream\u201d premiere while grabbing post-screening drinks with director and producer Michael Leavy.<\/p>\n \u201cWe went out for drinks and we were just kicking around ideas,\u201d Quinn said. \u201cAnd Mike [Leavy] was like, \u201cDo you guys want to take a shot at the script for \u2018Stream 2\u2019?\u201d We were like, yeah.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n The \u201cStream\u201d franchise\u2019s official social pages shared a clip from the podcast<\/a> this week, writing in the caption that Quinn and Imburgio joining the sequel was \u201ca perfect match for where we want to take this franchise,\u201d adding that their comedy background is \u201ca secret weapon\u201d because \u201cscares, like jokes, are all about beats.\u201d<\/p>\n For Staten Islanders, the pairing feels especially exciting. Quinn, a Staten Island-raised former FDNY firefighter<\/a>, has increasingly crossed paths with Fuzz on the Lens in recent years, including a cameo in the group\u2019s 2025 ferry-set slasher \u201cScreamboat<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n As for other local connections in \u201cStream 2,\u201d Islanders will be pleased to know that familiar locations may appear in the sequel.<\/p>\n \u201cWe almost always film at least some portion of our productions on Staten Island so we don\u2019t expect \u2018Stream 2\u2032 to be any different,\u201d Fuzz\u2019s Steven Della Salla told the Advance\/SILive.com<\/a> last June. \u201cStaten Island is our home and the support we receive from our community has always been incredible. We will never forget that and even as our company continues to grow we will always keep our fans as involved as possible with all of our work.\u201d<\/p>\n
