{"id":106240,"date":"2026-01-20T19:49:30","date_gmt":"2026-01-20T19:49:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/106240\/"},"modified":"2026-01-20T19:49:30","modified_gmt":"2026-01-20T19:49:30","slug":"bicyclist-48-killed-in-collision-with-turning-ford-truck-in-queens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/106240\/","title":{"rendered":"Bicyclist, 48, killed in collision with turning Ford truck in Queens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 48-year-old cyclist was killed this morning after he collided with a pickup truck in Queens, police said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The bicycle rider was traveling west on Sanford Ave. in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityneighborhoods.nyc\/flushing\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Flushing<\/a> when a 23-year-old man driving a Ford F 150 truck southbound on 160th St. tried to make a right turn onto Sanford Ave., and the vehicles crashed into each other, cops said.<\/p>\n<p>Medics rushed the 48-year-old victim to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyp.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">New York-Presbyterian Hospital<\/a> where doctors pronounced him dead.<\/p>\n<p>The driver stayed at the scene of the crash.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" lazyautosizes lazyload\" alt=\"A firefighter puts down salt where blood was washed away after a man on a bicycle was fatally hit by a truck on the corner of Sanford Ave. and 160th St. in Queens on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026.
