Fish Cheeks<\/a> \u2014 the Thai seafood restaurant<\/a> from co-founders Ohm Suansilphong and Chat Suansilphong, along with Jenn Saesue and Pranwalai Kittirattanawiwat \u2014 has launched a new delivery and takeout spot. The restaurant, called Little Cheeks<\/a>, is on DoorDash<\/a>, Uber Eats<\/a>, Seamless<\/a>, and Grubhub<\/a>; it\u2019s the newest sibling to Fish Cheeks locations in Noho and Williamsburg<\/a>, as well as Bub\u2019s Bakery<\/a>. The menu centers on comfort food dishes the team says they grew up eating, such as pad Thai and zaab wings. It\u2019s available around the Noho and Williamsburg Fish Cheeks\u2019 locations.<\/p>\n

Daniel Humm is a children\u2019s book author now<\/p>\n

Daniel Humm, the chef behind Eleven Madison Park<\/a>, has moved into children\u2019s publishing. His new picture book, Daniel\u2019s Dream,<\/a> out on Tuesday, January 20, is framed as an inspirational story drawn from his childhood, about imagination, confidence, and believing your small ideas might turn into something bigger. The book is co-written with author Roda Ahmed \u2014 best known for Mae Among the Stars, a bestselling children\u2019s book about astronaut Mae Jemison \u2014 and illustrated by Diana Pedott. It\u2019s being published by HighTree<\/a>, Ahmed\u2019s independent imprint, which focuses on children\u2019s books centered on representation and global storytelling, and arrives bundled with extras like activity worksheets, reflection prompts, and a behind-the-scenes video. It\u2019s not Humm\u2019s first go-round as an author: he has written five books,<\/a> one of which costs $500.<\/p>\n

Marcus Samuelsson has launched a mentorship program<\/p>\n

Marcus Samuelsson is launching a new fellowship program called the Rise Residency<\/a>, offering mid-career culinary folks \u2014 chefs, food writers, sommeliers, food entrepreneurs, and recipe developers \u2014 two weeks at the Catskills artist retreat Denniston Hill<\/a>, plus a $5,000 stipend. It follows with six months of mentorship with Samuelsson, along with others, such as Dawn Padmore, a vice president of the James Beard Foundation Awards, and Chip Wade, the CEO of Union Square Hospitality.
