(WIBW) &#8211; One person suffered serious injuries in a four-vehicle crash Monday evening in Riley County, officials said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The collision was reported at 5:50 p.m. Monday at Tuttle Creek Boulevard and W. 59th Avenue. The location was about eight miles southeast of the city of Riley, or about nine miles northwest of Manhattan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Tuttle Creek Boulevard is US-24 highway at that location.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"One person was seriously injured Monday evening in a four-vehicle crash northwest of Manhattan.\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/PRH46PZS5JHMPI2PADVVPRXKFM.jpg\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>One person was seriously injured Monday evening in a four-vehicle crash northwest of Manhattan.(Source: MGN)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2003 Honda Accord that was eastbound on Tuttle Creek Boulevard rear-ended a 2012 Subaru Forester that was stopped to make a left-hand turn onto W. 59th Avenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Following the collision, the Honda then went into the westbound lane of Tuttle Creek Boulevard, where it collided with a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country minivan that was traveling west on the highway.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Chrysler then was pushed into a 2024 Toyota Rav4 as it was stopped at a stop sign facing west on W. 59th Avenue at the intersection of Tuttle Creek Boulevard.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The driver and lone occupant of the Honda, Elysia P Bowles, 19, of Randolph, had suspected minor injuries in the crash. There was no record of her being transported to an area hospital by ambulance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The driver and only occupant of the Subaru, Killian T. Koenig, 16, of Manhattan, had suspected minor injuries, but there was no record of him being taken to the hospital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The driver of the Chrysler, Harry Everett Whitney III, 70, of Manhattan, was reported to have possible injuries, but there was no record of him being transported to the hospital. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A passenger in the Chrysler, Harry Everett Whitney II, 93, of Manhattan, was reported to be uninjured.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The driver of the Toyota, Connie M. Schmidt, 76, of Manhattan, was transported to Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan with suspected minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A passenger in the Toyota, David E. Schmidt, 80, of Manhattan, was transported to Ascension Via Christi with serious injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The patrol said all of the occupants of the four vehicles were wearing their seat belts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Riley County Police posted a notice on its Facebook page that all north- and southbound traffic in the area of 59th Avenue and Tuttle Creek Boulevard was shut down from around 6 to 8 p.m. Monday as crews were on the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-center article-text\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ksgovernment.feedbacksurvey.sgizmo.com\/?website=KHPCrashLogs\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Survey<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 WIBW.
