Summer employment for young New Yorkers, that is.<\/p>\n
More Local News <\/a><\/p>\n Mayor Mamdani took to social media to announce that applications for the Summer Youth Employment Program are officially open.<\/p>\n \u201cWe often tell young people what they shouldn\u2019t be doing. How about we tell them what they should be doing?\u201d Mayor Zohran Mamdani said in a video posted on X<\/a>. \u201cIf you\u2019re a New Yorker between the ages of 14-24, it\u2019s time to start thinking about how you\u2019re about to spend your summer, and the city is here help. Don\u2019t get caught sleeping.\u201d<\/p>\n SYEP is the country\u2019s biggest youth employment program, providing paid summer work opportunities for ages 14 to 24 across the five boroughs.<\/p>\n New Yorkers ages 14-15 learn about career opportunities and get paid for project-based activities.
