Before Brooklyn Beckham<\/a>\u2019s marriage to Nicola Peltz, the oldest of the Beckham kids had dated some recognizable names. And with Brooklyn taking to Instagram to air out his grievances against his parents, including accusing them of trying to break up his relationship with his wife, there\u2019s a renewed interest in his dating life and who, perhaps, his parents would have preferred for him.<\/p>\n

One of those big names is actress Chloe Grace Moretz. But why did Brooklyn<\/a> Beckham and Moretz break up? How long did they date? Here\u2019s everything we know.<\/p>\n

Beckham\u2019s most high-profile relationship was with Chlo\u00eb Grace Moretz, better known for\u00a0Kick Ass,\u00a0Carrie, and\u00a0Let Me In. The two dated between 2014 and 2018, with the relationship starting when she was 17 and he was 15. Mortez has spoken about the relationship before, and most of what she\u2019s said has been positive\u2014including what she\u2019s had to say about Victoria Beckham<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In 2014, speaking to Andy Cohen about Victoria, she said, \u201cShe\u2019s an amazing person. I really admire her work ethic and I love her line. I think that as a family, they\u2019re awesome people.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also spoke about how much the family gets the Hollywood life. \u201c[The Beckhams] understand the travel, the sex scenes with random people, the crazy schedules.\u201d<\/p>\n

There was also some praise for David Beckham,<\/a> calling him \u201ca great dad, [Victoria\u2019s] a great mother. They genuinely are very good parents. That\u2019s what matters most\u2019.<\/p>\n

But Mortez also spoke in 2016 about how dating Brooklyn was complicated at times. \u201cIt creates a mass frenzy and they follow you in separate cars so you can\u2019t just run around and share little silly and cute moments.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also told Australian magazine\u00a0Stellar<\/a> that she struggled after the pair broke up in 2016. \u201cI went through a hard year and I\u2019m not going to hide that,\u201d she said. \u201cI had to deal with this new level of fame while I was growing up, I was getting out of a relationship and all of it was very public. I wanted to hide.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moretz and Beckham broke up for good in 2018, and Mortez came out as a \u201cgay woman\u201d in 2024. She is now married to Kate Harrison.<\/p>\n

Brooklyn Beckham recently talked about his family on Instagram Stories, writing, \u201cI do not want to reconcile with my family,\u201d and adding, \u201cI\u2019m not being controlled, I\u2019m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also said, \u201cFor my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family [with] performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships. \u2026 Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they\u2019ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade.\u201d<\/p>\n

And as for his relationship with Peltz, he accused his family of \u201ctrying endlessly to ruin [his] relationship\u201d with wife Nicola Peltz<\/a>, saying that his family \u201cvalue public promotion and endorsements above all else\u201d because \u201cbrand Beckham comes first,\u201d and explaining that, \u201cFamily \u2018love\u2019 is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it\u2019s at the expense of our professional obligations.\u201d<\/p>\n
