NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) \u2013 In a city full of tenant woes, these landlords are the worst of the worst<\/a>, according to Public Advocate Jumaane Williams.<\/p>\n

The top two worst landlords, Margaret Brunn and Donald Hastings, both work for A&E Real Estate Holdings<\/a> and have more violations than anyone in the list\u2019s history, Williams said. It\u2019s the first year the top two landlords work for the same company, Williams said.<\/p>\n

The city recently won a settlement for tenants in an Upper West Side building<\/a> in A&E Real Estate\u2019s control. The company will be required to pay $2.1 million to correct violations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis list is most powerful when used for organizing,\u201d Williams said.<\/p>\n

Williams noted the New York City Housing Authority would \u201cfar surpass anyone on the list\u201d if it were a private owner.<\/p>\n

\u201cPerpetual mismanagement of NYCHA has made the city itself the worst overall landlord for hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers,\u201d Williams said.<\/p>\n

These are the top 10 worst landlords in New York City, according to Public Advocate Jumaane Williams:<\/p>\n

4,872 HPD violations across 24 buildings<\/p>\n

Donald Hastings<\/p>\n

3,889 HPD violations across 36 buildings<\/p>\n

Barry Singer<\/p>\n

2,885 HPD violations across 15 buildings<\/p>\n

Joseph Cafiero<\/p>\n

2,871 HPD violations across 19 buildings<\/p>\n

Peter Fine<\/p>\n

2,206 HPD violations across 7 buildings<\/p>\n

Robyn Lucas<\/p>\n

2,101 HPD violations across 14 buildings<\/p>\n

Yonatan Bahumi<\/p>\n

1,801 HPD violations across 34 buildings<\/p>\n

Claudette Henry<\/p>\n

1,738 HPD violations across 25 buildings<\/p>\n

Joseph Pistilli<\/p>\n

1,656 HPD violations across 8 buildings<\/p>\n

David Tennenbaum<\/p>\n

1,549 HPD violations across 14 buildings<\/p>\n

A&E Real Estate Holdings did not immediately respond to PIX11 News\u2019 request for comment. <\/p>\n
