AniTOMO Con<\/a>, the festival transforms the museum into a world where spooky meets cute. Throughout the day, families can dive into a blend of trick-or-treating, anime screenings\u00a0and hands-on artmaking inspired by Japan\u2019s \u201ckawaii\u201d (cute) culture.<\/p>\nGuests can create yokai masks with Zelda Arts, join collaborative mural painting with Tokyo Bronx and explore Artist Alley featuring local anime artists plus\u00a0illustrators such as Milk Pink Maid Cafe, Rica Takashima plus Midnight Crafters.<\/p>\n
\u201cBrooklyn Children\u2019s Museum has always been about opening doors to new cultures and experiences,\u201d said\u00a0Atiba T. Edwards, president and chief executive officer\u00a0of Brooklyn Children\u2019s Museum.<\/p>\n
The museum\u2019s exhibits become trick-or-treat stops, while professional cosplayers lead manga storytimes and anime screenings light up the auditorium. On the rooftop, DJ Aux spins a mix of anime and Halloween beats, paired with a boba bar from NYC-based Tea and Milk.<\/p>\n
Families can also meet live insects and animals with BCM\u2019s own \u201cmad scientist\u201d Aaron Rodriques, watch a martial arts demonstration by the New York Budo Association, and get up close with the museum\u2019s living collection of creepy crawlies.<\/p>\n
The celebration extends beyond the museum walls, with community partners including Japan Society, The Town Hall, Brooklyn Public Library\u00a0and Japan Village hosting cultural tables throughout the day.<\/p>\n

The Kawaii Kreature Festival runs in three sessions, 10:00am\u00a0to 12:30pm, 1:00pm\u00a0to 3:30pm\u00a0and 4:00pm\u00a0to 6:30pm.\u00a0<\/p>\n
