{"id":108887,"date":"2026-01-22T18:47:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-22T18:47:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/108887\/"},"modified":"2026-01-22T18:47:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-22T18:47:08","slug":"news-12-the-bronx-99","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/108887\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | The Bronx"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With a snowstorm expected to impact the <a href=\"https:\/\/bronx.news12.com\/your-daily-bronx-weather-forecast\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">tri-state this weekend<\/a>, the MTA shared how commuters can prepare for the impacts and what services are available.<\/p>\n<p>\tWhen it comes to wet and icy conditions, MTA officials urge commuters to use handrails in stations in trains, not run in the stations and plan ahead.<\/p>\n<p>\tIf areas are predicted to get 8 to 12 inches of snow, that&#8217;s when commuter services will be reduced. Anything greater than a foot of snow or blizzard conditions can initiate service suspensions or a full shutdown.<br \/>\n\tIn the case of ice, sleet, freezing rain or subzero temperatures, keep an eye on the status of your train&#8217;s service as it may affect travel.
