MAPLETON\u00a0\u2014 FIFTY-SEVEN SWASTIKAS and other antisemitic graffiti, painted across a children\u2019s playground in Gravesend Park, were discovered around 11 a.m. on Wednesday, according to ABC7<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This was the second day in a row<\/a> that the Gravesend Park playground was vandalized with Nazi symbols. Both days, the vandal or vandals used red, blue and yellow paint, not spray cans. The New York City Police Department is investigating the incidents as aggravated harassment and possible hate crimes. No arrests have been made.<\/p>\n

City workers removed the graffiti using paint thinner. Mayor Zohran Mamdani called the vandalism \u201csickening,\u201d saying antisemitism has no place in the city and that his administration is working with the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force.<\/p>\n

The Anti-Defamation League also condemned the incident, noting the area\u2019s large population of Holocaust survivors. Community leaders urged residents with information to come forward as the investigation continues.<\/p>\n
