The Daily Beast reported<\/a> that discoloration on Trump\u2019s left hand was plain to see as the president signed documents for the proposed \u201cBoard of Peace,\u201d an initiative which will be tasked with overseeing a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. <\/p>\nA faint bruise could also be seen on Trump\u2019s right hand as he held up the charter document. <\/p>\n
The discolorations were less noticeable later in the day because they were partially hidden by the presidential lectern during Trump\u2019s speech.<\/p>\n
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told the Daily Beast that the new bruise was the result of a minor accident. <\/p>\n
\u201cAt the Board of Peace event today in Davos, President Trump hit his hand on the corner of the signing table, causing it to bruise,\u201d Leavitt told the Daily Beast.<\/p>\n

A White House official said in addition that Trump, 79, and his physicians have previously noted that Trump is \u201csusceptible\u201d to hand bruising due to his daily aspirin regime. <\/p>\n
The president takes aspirin in order to thin his blood. <\/p>\n
The White House had previously said that the bruising on Trump\u2019s right hand was due to the large number of hands that the president shakes as part of his presidential duties. <\/p>\n
Trump also suffers from chronic venous insufficiency, a condition common to people of his age where the leg veins struggle to return blood to the heart. <\/p>\n
Trump in the past has masked the bruising on his right hand with concealing makeup. <\/p>\n
Trump foes were quick to jump on the new bruising. <\/p>\n
\u201cPoof. There goes Karoline Leavitt\u2019s bald-faced lie that the bruise on Trump\u2019s hand is from hand shakes,\u201d one wrote on X. <\/p>\n
But another wrote: \u201cIt\u2019s extremely common for people Trump\u2019s age to bruise or have skin abrasions very easily. They have thinner skin and often take blood thinners or low-dose aspirin.
