Despite its updated look and new name, one of Southold\u2019s favorite coffee spots will still be brewing your favorite morning, midday, and maybe even evening, beverage.<\/p>\n
Earlier this month, Stone Street Coffee Company<\/a> took over Southold General\u2019s Einstein Square<\/a> space, introducing Stone Street Caf\u00e9 to the Southold community.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI think after spending a little bit of time there, we saw how much [Southold] is developing,\u201d says Anthony Garrigues, managing partner at Stone Street Caf\u00e9. \u201cIt\u2019s very different from the South Fork. There\u2019s local life, there\u2019s agriculture and Southold is so beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n This is the second of the brand\u2019s cafes. The coffee company was founded as a roaster in 2014, then opened their flagship location on Broome Street in New York City three years ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n Southold\u2019s Stone Street Caf\u00e9 held a soft opening on Jan. 14.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are big fans of building as we go, so instead of waiting to be perfect, we just wanted to open and give ourselves the opportunity to meet everyone, discuss, learn about our customers and the community,\u201d says Garrigues.\u00a0<\/p>\n In 2021, Southold General opened their doors as a caf\u00e9 and gourmet market serving beany beverages, pizza, pastries and gelato. While the change is intended to be a continuation of Southold General\u2019s well established coffee corner, Stone Street Coffee Company will be incorporating some of their own twists.\u00a0<\/p>\n The fixed food menu features coffee shop classics like bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches, avocado toast and other breakfast and brunch items. The coffee menu includes a slew of espresso drinks, a hefty tea lineup plus signature staples like the honey cinnamon latte.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cWe roast coffee that has already been served in three Michelin Star locations as well as deli shops, so we are able to please a very wide type of clientele,\u201d Garrigues says.\u00a0<\/p>\n Have no fear \u2014 Southold General\u2019s popular pastries, famous chicken salad and many friendly faces behind the counter are here to stay, with affability at the foundation of Stone Street Caf\u00e9\u2019s character.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cWe really try to go the extra mile on being hospitable and getting to know the people who are coming through and provide an atmosphere of friendliness and openness that I don\u2019t see so often within the hospitality industry,\u201d says Seth Hughes, hospitality manager at Stone Street Coffee Company.<\/p>\n Garrigues and Hughes were thrilled by the warm welcome from the community and are looking forward to taking feedback and shaping the space.<\/p>\n Stop by for a cup of joe or a sweet or savory snack, daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Seth Hughes, left and Anthony Garrigues are the minds behind Stone Street Caf\u00e9.
