Victoria Beckham<\/a>\u2019s song Not Such An Innocent Girl has become the UK\u2019s best-selling single of the week, a quarter of a century after it was first released.<\/p>\n

This surge in popularity for the fashion designer and former Spice Girl<\/a>\u2019s hit follows a public fallout with her eldest son, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Official Charts Company confirmed the 25-year-old R&B pop track also became the most downloaded single of the week.<\/p>\n

Its resurgence coincides with a dramatic public family fallout, ignited by an “explosive statement” from Brooklyn on Monday, where he reportedly made allegations against his mother and her husband, Sir David Beckham.<\/p>\n

The statement has reportedly divided online opinion, prompting many fans to revisit Lady Beckham\u2019s solo music.<\/p>\n

Despite its significant sales increase, Not Such An Innocent Girl did not make the top 100 on the overall singles chart.<\/p>\n

The sales chart, which the song now leads, tallies downloads, CDs, and vinyl purchases over a seven-day period, while the broader singles chart also incorporates audio and video streams.<\/p>\n

Lady Beckham rose to fame in the 90s as a member of The Spice Girls, alongside Melanie \u201cMel B\u201d Brown, Melanie \u201cMel C\u201d Chisholm, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell-Horner.<\/p>\n

Each bandmember had a nickname and Lady Beckham was known as Posh Spice. Scary Spice was Mel B, Sporty Spice was Mel C, Baby Spice was Bunton and Ginger Spice was Halliwell-Horner.<\/p>\n

Formed in 1994, the girl group dominated the charts with nine number one songs, including hits such as Wannabe, Say You\u2019ll Be There and 2 Become 1.<\/p>\n

The group also had two number one albums, including their debut, Spice, followed by Spiceworld.<\/p>\n

After the Spice Girls, Lady Beckham featured on the track Out Of Your Mind with True Steppers and Dane Bowers, and released her eponymous debut solo album in 2001, reaching number 10 on the albums chart.<\/p>\n

She also released the songs A Mind Of Its Own in 2002 which charted at number six, followed by This Groove\/Let Your Head Go in 2004, which reached number three.<\/p>\n

Lady Beckham went on to make her mark in the fashion industry and launched her eponymous luxury fashion label in 2008.<\/p>\n

Brooklyn claimed in a post on Instagram that his parents control narratives about his family in the press and tried to \u201cruin\u201d his relationship with his wife.<\/p>\n

He also claimed Lady Beckham \u201chijacked\u201d his first dance with Nicola at their wedding and danced \u201cinappropriately on me\u201d in front of their guests, adding that he had never felt more \u201cuncomfortable or humiliated\u201d in his life.<\/p>\n

In an interview on ITV\u2019s This Morning, DJ Fat Tony, who performed at the three-day wedding, said that Nicola Peltz Beckham was in tears at her wedding after Lady Beckham had the first dance with her husband.<\/p>\n

He said US singer Marc Anthony was on stage when he asked for \u201cthe most beautiful woman in the room\u201d to come to the stage, and guests believed it was for Nicola\u2019s first dance with Brooklyn.<\/p>\n

Instead Lady Victoria is said to have been called to the stage by Anthony and asked to dance with her son, prompting Nicola to leave the room crying.<\/p>\n

Brooklyn also alleged that Nicola had been \u201cdisrespected\u201d by his family and was not invited to his father\u2019s 50th birthday party.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, Sir David told US outlet CNBC\u2019s Squawk Box that parents must let their children \u201cmake mistakes\u201d on social media.<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cIt can be dangerous, but what I\u2019ve found personally, especially with my kids as well, use it (social media) for the right reasons.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve tried to do the same with my children to educate them. They make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes. That\u2019s how they learn.\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple, known as Posh and Becks, have two other sons, Cruz and Romeo, and a daughter, Harper.<\/p>\n
