BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) \u2014 A Brooklyn man is accused of stuffing his boyfriend\u2019s 40-pound body in a black garbage bag<\/a> after the victim likely died of natural causes, according to police and sources.<\/p>\n

Christopher Moss<\/a>, 38, told investigators his partner, Darrell Montgomery, was dead when he found his body in the Brooklyn apartment they shared on Friday morning, prosecutors said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe used methamphetamines on a consistent basis. I discovered him deceased, and his body was stiff. I didn\u2019t call the police. I tried to place his body in the garbage,\u201d Moss said, according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n

Authorities found Montgomery unconscious in a garbage bag in a bin outside the apartment building at 557 East 21st St. at around 8 a.m. Friday, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors said Moss was captured on surveillance video leaving the apartment with a blue bin that he left by the building\u2019s garbage collection area.<\/p>\n

Police previously reported the victim\u2019s severed body parts were found in the bin. But sources said Montgomery had no signs of trauma, the body was not decomposed, and that the victim likely died of natural causes. The medical examiner is awaiting further tests, including a toxicology, according to sources.<\/p>\n

Moss was arrested Sunday and charged with concealment of a human corpse after cops received a tip that he was at Beverley Road and Nostrand Avenue, according to police and sources.<\/p>\n

When officers were taking Moss into custody, he allegedly tried to take a cop\u2019s gun and taser before head-butting the officer in the face multiple times, cutting his lip, according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n

He was charged with assault, attempted robbery, resisting arrest, and harassment in connection with the incident.<\/p>\n

Moss was arraigned Monday in both cases. A psychological exam was ordered, and bail was set at $20,000 cash\/$40,000 bond for the assault case, authorities said.<\/p>\n

His attorney could not be reached on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
