\u2014 While New York City will see snow this weekend, the question still remains: just how much snow will actually fall?<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"6Y4TAFNA3FA5FIVPA4KWTNLTTY\">As of Friday morning, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\">National Weather Service<\/a> forecast called for snowfall tallies <a href=\"https:\/\/www.silive.com\/weather\/2026\/01\/ny-weather-dueling-forecasts-as-major-snowstorm-approaches-nyc-how-much-snow-will-we-get.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.silive.com\/weather\/2026\/01\/ny-weather-dueling-forecasts-as-major-snowstorm-approaches-nyc-how-much-snow-will-we-get.html\">ranging anywhere from 8 to 14 inches<\/a> in and around the borough. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accuweather.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.accuweather.com\">AccuWeather<\/a> believes the city will receive 4 to 8 inches of snow.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"6VGYF4YGORE77JU3LJI4UYZ7Q4\">It\u2019s clear that residents will need to shovel some snow, but what are the odds that the city actually receives over a foot of accumulation?<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"MBPBZ2C3HZFGFCRXQJAF7H3API\">The weather service issued a series of maps Friday afternoon that provide some insight into the forecast probabilities of various snowfall amounts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"CD6DBDG7YZDTHP56BCX7CXVMWQ\">While there is a possibility that Staten Island picks up about 15 inches of snow, chances are that residents will see a final tally between 8 and 12 inches, according to the weather service.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\"
