{"id":110315,"date":"2026-01-23T21:33:33","date_gmt":"2026-01-23T21:33:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/110315\/"},"modified":"2026-01-23T21:33:33","modified_gmt":"2026-01-23T21:33:33","slug":"queens-d36-assembly-candidates-hold-final-debate-ahead-of-feb-3-special-election","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/110315\/","title":{"rendered":"Queens D36 Assembly candidates hold final debate ahead of Feb. 3 special election"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t&#13;<\/p>\n<p>In a final debate before the start of early voting, candidates for the upcoming special election to replace Mayor Zohran Mamdani in the 36th Assembly District presented an almost united front on a range of policy issues, from taxing the rich to protecting immigrant communities.<\/p>\n<p>Diana Moreno, the Queens Democratic Party nominee, joined Mary Jobaida and Rana Abdelhamid \u2014 two progressive candidates who will appear on the ballot after collecting the required number of signatures \u2014 at the Hellenic Cultural Center in Astoria for a debate hosted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/oana-ny.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Old Astoria Neighborhood Association<\/a> on Jan. 22.
