The Beckham family drama has reached a fever pitch. Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, released a scathing statement<\/a> on Monday,\u00a0 detailing the fractured relationship with his parents, who\u2019ve long \u201ccontrolled narratives\u201d about their family.<\/p>\n

Laid out in a series of Instagram story posts, Brooklyn seemingly addressed the ongoing speculation that he and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, had fallen out with his parents. But Brooklyn did more than just confirm that there is, in fact, bad blood within the famous family: He shed light on the alleged incidents that led to this breaking point.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about some of the lies that have been printed,\u201d Brooklyn wrote.<\/p>\n

Since Brooklyn married Nicola in 2022, the famous family\u2019s alleged interpersonal rift has remained a near-constant topic of discussion in British and American media. Alleged Instagram unfollows and a steady stream of press leaks have plagued the once seemingly solid family.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do not want to reconcile with my family,\u201d Brooklyn continued. \u201cI\u2019m not being controlled, I\u2019m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Below, Yahoo breaks down everything there is to know about the Beckham family feud \u2014 including the scathing allegations made in Brooklyn\u2019s damning statement and the context his wedding DJ has since provided.<\/p>\n

When did the Beckham family feud begin?<\/p>\n

Rumors of tension within the Beckham family began circulating following Brooklyn and Nicola\u2019s three-day wedding ceremony, which took place at her family\u2019s estate in Palm Beach in April 2022.<\/p>\n

Headlines placed a particular emphasis on the fact that Nicola did not wear a Victoria Beckham-designed wedding gown. Instead, Nicola wore a custom Valentino Haute Couture gown, reportedly after the initial plan to wear a gown designed by her mother-in-law had allegedly fallen through.<\/p>\n

But Brooklyn\u2019s scathing statement suggests a more calculated move on his mother\u2019s part.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy mum cancelled making Nicola\u2019s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress,\u201d Brooklyn wrote.<\/p>\n

It is unclear, however, whether Nicola had more than one dress planned for the wedding, as in a \u00a02022 Vogue<\/a> feature, she detailed how her wedding look was the result of \u201ca year\u2019s worth of conversations\u201d with Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli\u2019s team.<\/p>\n

What else does Brooklyn allege went down at his wedding?<\/p>\n

Brooklyn alleged that, while planning the wedding, Victoria called him \u201cevil\u201d for wanting to include his and Nicola\u2019s grandmothers at their table during the reception.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy mum went so far as to call me \u2018evil\u2019 because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra, and Nicola\u2019s Naunni at our table, because they both didn\u2019t have their husbands,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

Among the more damning allegations outlined by Brooklyn was that Victoria had \u201chijacked\u201d his and Nicola\u2019s first dance. Singer Marc Anthony, who performed during the wedding reception, allegedly called Brooklyn to the stage, where Victoria was waiting for him. The degree of humiliation Brooklyn claimed he endured prompted him and Nicola to renew their vows privately in 2025.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me,\u201d Brooklyn wrote. \u201cShe danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I\u2019ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brooklyn and Nicola continued to attend public events with the family despite rumors of an alleged rift following the first dance fiasco<\/a>. The newlyweds were a fixture at Victoria Beckham fashion shows and were often photographed sitting in the front row alongside Brooklyn\u2019s siblings, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.<\/p>\n

Brooklyn and Nicola have been noticeably absent from several of the family\u2019s public-facing appearances in recent years, including the premiere of Victoria\u2019s Netflix<\/a> docuseries last October.<\/p>\n

What did Brooklyn\u2019s wedding DJ say in response to these claims?<\/p>\n

DJ Fat Tony, who said he was booked to play at Brooklyn and Nicola\u2019s three-day wedding extravaganza, is trying to set the record straight. While chatting with hosts Dermot O\u2019Leary and Alison Hammond on the British daytime show This Morning,<\/a> DJ Fat Tony was asked whether Victoria had danced in an inappropriate manner.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not allowed to say slut-dropping, but I\u2019m going to say, there was no slut-dropping. There was no black PVC catsuit. There was no Spice Girl action,\u201d DJ Fat Tony said.<\/p>\n

What was most inappropriate, he revealed, was the poor timing of it all.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was the timing,\u201d he said. \u201cSo what happened was Marc Anthony was performing on stage. He then called Brooklyn onto stage, Brooklyn went on to the stage \u2026 everyone was expecting it to be Nicola to go up and do this first dance. Marc Anthony asks the most beautifulest woman in the room to come to the stage, and then he says, \u2018Victoria, come to the stage.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

The drama unraveled from there, according to DJ Fat Tony.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt that point, Brooklyn is suddenly, literally devastated because he thought he was going to do his first dance with his wife. Then, Nicola leaves the room crying her eyes out. Brooklyn\u2019s stuck there on stage, and they do this dance. And Marc Anthony was like, \u2018Put your hands on your mother\u2019s hips.\u2019 \u2026 It\u2019s a Latin thing. The whole situation was really awkward for everyone in the room.\u201d<\/p>\n

What other allegations does Brooklyn make in his statement?<\/p>\n

Brooklyn also alleged that his parents \u201crepeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBrand Beckham comes first,\u201d he wrote. \u201cFamily \u2018love\u2019 is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it\u2019s at the expense of our professional obligations.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to alleging that his mother \u201crepeatedly invited women from my past into our lives\u201d in an effort to make both him and Nicola uncomfortable, Brooklyn recalled an instance in which David rebuffed his efforts to reconcile. After allegedly traveling to London for his dad\u2019s 50th birthday, Brooklyn said that he and Nicola \u201cwere rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan our quality time with him.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe refused all of our attempts, unless it was at a big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner,\u201d he wrote. \u201cWhen he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn\u2019t invited.\u201d<\/p>\n

Is Brooklyn\u2019s feud just with his parents?<\/p>\n

Brooklyn isn\u2019t just estranged from his parents. In his Instagram story, he also alleged that his brothers, Romeo and Cruz, are involved in the drama.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly, that were sent to the press on their orders. Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last Summer,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

Cruz, however, previously denied reports that he and his parents had blocked Brooklyn on social media. The 20-year-old debunked a Daily Mail headline alleging that his parents no longer follow Brooklyn. Cruz wrote on his Instagram story last December<\/a>, \u201cNOT TRUE. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son.. Let\u2019s get the facts right. They woke up blocked\u2026 as did I.\u201d<\/p>\n

Has anyone in the Beckham family responded to these claims?<\/p>\n

David and Victoria haven\u2019t yet addressed Brooklyn\u2019s claims outright. But the famed footballer stepped out for the World Economic Forum\u2019s 56th Annual Meeting in Switzerland on Tuesday, where he spoke about his children<\/a> as a whole and his goals as a parent.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes,\u201d David said. \u201cThat\u2019s how they learn. So, that\u2019s why I try to teach my kids. But, you know, you have to sometimes let them make those mistakes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Separate from the family, Rebecca Loos, David\u2019s former personal assistant, with whom he allegedly had an affair, shared her thoughts<\/a> on Brooklyn\u2019s scathing statement. In response to a commenter who urged her to look at Brooklyn\u2019s Instagram story, Loos wrote, \u201cSo happy he is standing up for himself and speaking publicly finally!!!! I have felt so bad for his poor wife, knowing too well what they can be like!\u201d<\/p>\n
