Brooklyn Beckham, Nicola Peltz Wedding DJ Speaks Out<\/p>\n
Unfortunately for all of the people who love to complain about celebrity drama (yet, for some reason, always click on news articles about it), the Beckham family feud doesn\u2019t look like it\u2019ll be out of the headlines any time soon, with the DJ from Brooklyn Peltz Beckham<\/a> and Nicola Peltz Beckham’s<\/a> wedding now entering the chat. And what he had to say is seriously interesting.<\/p>\n In addition to shedding some more light on that now-infamous dance between Brooklyn and his mom, Victoria Beckham<\/a>, at the wedding, DJ Fat Tony, real name Tony Marnoch, opened up about the seriously uncomfortable vibe at the wedding brunch the day after the nuptials, where everybody was apparently talking about what went down the night before.<\/p>\n In case you missed it, 26-year-old Brooklyn sparked shockwaves on Monday when he took to his Instagram story to share a six-post statement<\/a> about his long-rumored feud with his famous family. In the statement, Brooklyn made a whole heap of allegations against his mom and dad, as well as his younger brothers, Romeo and Cruz, claiming that his family has been consistently disrespectful toward Nicola, who is the daughter of controversial<\/a> billionaire Nelson Peltz.<\/p>\n You can read a full breakdown of the entire feud here<\/a>, or just an explainer on Brooklyn\u2019s statement here<\/a>, as we are going to focus on just one part of it: the fateful wedding dance. If you need reminding, Brooklyn and Nicola got married in 2022, and that same year, it became incredibly evident that all was not well between the newlyweds and the Beckhams. Shortly after the April nuptials, sources claimed that Nicola had been left upset after Victoria stole the show when Beckham family friend, Marc Anthony<\/a>, gave a gushing speech about her.<\/p>\n At the time, she was accused of taking over Nicola and Brooklyn\u2019s first dance, which was to a song performed by Marc. An insider told the Daily Mail<\/a>: \u201cNicola left the room because she and Brooklyn thought Marc was introducing them for a special dance to a love song the couple had chosen, but without any warning and at the request of Victoria, Marc switched it to a mother-son dance using the same song.\u201d<\/p>\n And these claims were given a breath of fresh air<\/a> just last year, when a source told People<\/a>: \u201cMarc Anthony, who is a friend of the Beckhams, offered to perform as a gift at the wedding. Before the song began, Marc Anthony asked Brooklyn to come to the stage, and then announced, ‘The most beautiful woman in the room tonight, come on up…Victoria Beckham!'”<\/p>\n The source went on to add that Nicola felt like Victoria \u201cruined her wedding, and couldn’t understand why,\u201d with a second insider telling the publication: “It was such a jaw-dropping moment that it left the whole room in absolute shock \u2014 you could hear a pin drop.\u201d Victoria was said to have started slow-dancing with Brooklyn, and everyone then saw \u201cNicola run from the room crying.\u201d<\/p>\n And Brooklyn confirmed this entire story in his statement, where he wrote: \u201cMy mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song. In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead. She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I\u2019ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.\u201d He also referenced that he and Nicola renewed their wedding vows in August 2025, with \u2014 notably \u2014 only Nicola\u2019s family present. Brooklyn said: \u201cWe wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.\u201d<\/p>\n Needless to say, Brooklyn\u2019s choice of words caused a pretty big stir across social media, with many left curious about what dancing \u201cvery inappropriately on\u201d meant. As you\u2019ve probably seen, it sparked a whole ton of memes and joke tweets<\/a>, and youngest Beckham boy, Cruz Beckham, suggested that he could see the funny side of the very messy situation as he was caught liking some of these playful posts<\/a> on Instagram.<\/p>\n Through it all, various people have come forward with their thoughts and theories about what could have possibly gone down between Victoria and Brooklyn on that dance floor. But now, we no longer have to speculate because the event\u2019s DJ, Fat Tony, shared all during an appearance on the British daytime show This Morning<\/a> on Friday. For reference, Tony is the Beckhams\u2019 go-to DJ for their parties, and this was far from the first time that he has worked for them.<\/p>\n And Tony immediately came through with the tea as he opened up about the aftermath of the dance and how it impacted the rest of the wedding celebrations. He said: \u201cI was the DJ at the wedding; it wasn\u2019t a one-day wedding, it was a three-day wedding. I did the welcome party, then I did the wedding, and then I did the brunch on the Sunday, which was the most awkward part of it all because everything that had gone on on the actual wedding night was discussed amongst all the guests the next morning.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWhy I\u2019m here is to talk about the word \u2018inappropriate,\u2019\u201d Tony went on. \u201cThere was no slut dropping, there was no black PVC catsuit, there was no Spice Girls action\u2026 I said it was inappropriate as well because, at the time, it was the timing.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBasically, Marc Anthony was performing on stage, he then called Brooklyn onto stage. Brooklyn went onto the stage, everyone\u2019s expecting it to be Nicola to go up and do the first dance, and then he, Marc Anthony, asks the most beautifulest woman in the room to come to the stage, and then he says: \u2018Victoria, come up to the stage,\u2019\u201d he explained. \u201cSo, Victoria is by the stage, she goes onto the stage, and at this point, Brooklyn\u2019s suddenly literally devastated because he thought he was going to do his first dance with his wife.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThen Nicola leaves the room, crying her eyes out,\u201d Tony recalled. \u201cBrooklyn’s stuck there on stage, and then they do this dance and Marc Anthony is like: \u2018Go put your hands on your mother’s hips,\u2019 it was a Latin, you know? It\u2019s a Latin thing, and the whole situation was really awkward for everyone in the room. I’ve done an awful lot of Beckham parties in the past, and they’re a very dancy, close-knit family. They love to dance, right? This is all about how Brooklyn feels. If he felt it was inappropriate and awkward, then it was inappropriate.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt seems like it happened in the spur of the moment?\u201d host Dermot O\u2019Leary observed, to which Tony agreed: \u201cIt really was. And I think what’s sad is that this is the bit that everybody taken from this statement. They’ve kind of whitewashed everything else that went on.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBut can we just look at this from another point of view in the sense of, really, why is Victoria getting blamed when it was Marc Anthony who put her in that situation and was egging it on as he went through the dance?\u201d host Alison Hammond then argued. \u201cIt\u2019s actually quite a difficult position to be in, so I can understand where Brooklyn’s coming from, and we believe everything that Brooklyn’s saying, but why didn’t he take that eight-page statement and send it to his parents?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHe’s done all that, he’s spoken to them,\u201d Tony said. \u201cHe got to the point, for him, where he can’t take this anymore and wanted to step back from it. And that was his way of closure.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWhat was the morning after the wedding like? What was people saying?\u201d Alison asked, to which Tony spilled: \u201cWell, you know, when the bride and the groom leave their own wedding devastated, word trickles out. Not many people turned up to the brunch, to say the least. But it was the talk of…you know, everyone was talking about it.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cEveryone was talking about how sad that part of it was,\u201d he added. \u201cAnd I think that the dance is a very small part of the bigger problem.\u201d<\/p>\n
