WASHINGTON \u2014 President Trump told The Post that a secret new weapon <\/a>he calls \u201cThe Discombobulator\u201d was essential to the daring US raid that captured Venezuela\u2019s drug-dealing dictator Nicolas Maduro.<\/p>\n

Trump boasted that the mysterious weapon \u201cmade [enemy] equipment not work\u201d when US helicopters swooped into Caracas on Jan. 3 to arrest Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, on federal drug and weapons charges<\/a> \u2014 without losing a single American life.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Discombobulator. I\u2019m not allowed to talk about it,\u201d Trump said during an exclusive interview in the Oval Office.<\/p>\n

President Trump told The Post that a secret new weapon that he calls \u201cthe Discombobulator\u201d disabled Venezuelan defenses during the Jan. 3 US raid on Caracas. Tamara Beckwith \/ NY Post<\/p>\n

\u201cI would love to,\u201d the president added, before confirming its use in the stealth operation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey never got their rockets off. They had Russian and Chinese rockets, and they never got one off. We came in, they pressed buttons and nothing worked. They were all set for us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump commented on the weapon when asked about reports this week that the Biden administration purchased a pulsed energy weapon suspected of being the type that caused \u201cHavana Syndrome.\u201d<\/p>\n

Not much is known about the weapon, but those reports followed on-the-ground accounts from Venezuela<\/a> describing how Maduro\u2019s gunmen were brought to their knees, \u201cbleeding through the nose\u201d and vomiting blood.<\/p>\n

One member of the deposed strongman\u2019s team of guards recounted afterward that \u201csuddenly all our radar systems shut down without any explanation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe next thing we saw were drones, a lot of drones, flying over our positions. We didn\u2019t know how to react,\u201d he said, saying that helicopters then appeared \u2014 \u201cbarely eight\u201d \u2014 carrying about 20 US troops into the area.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Discombobulator\u201d then was aimed directly at Maduro\u2019s defenders.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt one point, they launched something; I don\u2019t know how to describe it. It was like a very intense sound wave. Suddenly I felt like my head was exploding from the inside,\u201d the witness said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe all started bleeding from the nose. Some were vomiting blood. We fell to the ground, unable to move. We couldn\u2019t even stand up after that sonic weapon \u2014 or whatever it was.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maduro, 63, is now locked up in a Brooklyn federal jail<\/a> awaiting trial on narcoterrorism charges, while his former vice president, Delcy Rodriguez, serves as Venezuela\u2019s interim leader.<\/p>\n
