Everyone has to eat. But for those who did not make it to the grocery store ahead of the storm, ordering takeout may be the next best option.<\/p>\n
As a winter storm is expected to dump inches of snow across the area, residents may find dining options limited, especially with many grocery stores closed.<\/p>\n
News 12 visited several local restaurants and found mixed plans for operating during the storm.<\/p>\n
Some businesses said they expect to remain open for a limited time, depending on snowfall and road conditions. Others have decided to close entirely out of concern for employee safety.<\/p>\n
Soundview Slices is among the restaurants choosing to shut down. Manager Julio Monserrat said the decision was made after forecasts predicted heavy snow.<\/p>\n
\u201cPizza\u2019s the food for everybody,\u201d Monserrat said. \u201cYou order today, stock up and then tomorrow, close for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jimbo\u2019s Hamburger Palace, however, plans to remain open during its regular hours. The restaurant said it will continue to offer delivery, relying on workers who will travel by bike or on foot if necessary.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven during [Superstorm] Sandy, we were open,\u201d said Ismal worker of Jimbo\u2019s Hamburger Palace. \u201cWe like to work. We like to serve the customers.\u201d<\/p>\n
Restaurant operations during the storm will vary by location.
