With red velvet cake mix-ins and silky cream cheese icing blended into DQ\u2019s famous soft-serve ice cream until thick, the Red Velvet Cake Blizzard is a creamy concoction<\/a> fans love.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

The flavor likely saw a resurgence after that famous armadillo groom\u2019s cake scene in the movie Steel Magniolias, but red velvet cake has been around for decades. Cocoa powder gives the cake a chocolatey edge, while buttermilk and vinegar give it tang. Its bright red hue makes it a popular treat for valentines\u2014and galentines\u2014to share. Add all of this to a famous Dairy Queen Blizzard, and it\u2019s a match-making success story.\n<\/p>\n

The Blizzard flavor debuted in 2014 and fans request its return all year long. It officially comes back to the menu on January 26, along with two for $6 Valentine\u2019s Cupcakes. The Treats for Two deal comes with two cupcakes topped with pink, red, or white frosting and heart-shaped sprinkles.\n<\/p>\n
