The Broadway League confirmed on Instagram that most of Broadway\u2019s major shows will continue to perform despite the snowstorm raging through New York City Sunday. <\/p>\n
However, Playbill reported<\/a> that a handful of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows are shutting down in wake of the storm. <\/p>\n Those shows include<\/a>: <\/p>\n Aladdin Heathers: The MusicalRagtime TartuffeThe 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling BeeThe Honey TrapThe Lion KingThe MonstersUlysses<\/p>\n If you happened to have a ticket for one of the aforementioned shows, you can reach out to the outlet where you purchased the ticket for a refund, Playbill wrote<\/a>. <\/p>\n As of 3:55 p.m., New York City\u2019s temperature is 18 degrees \u2014 though it feels more like 4 degrees, according to The Weather Channel.<\/a> <\/p>\n Sunday night will be even chillier with a predicted dip to just 11 degrees. <\/p>\n The snowy sleet is expected to peter out around 11 p.m., just after the last Broadway shows close their doors for the night. <\/p>\n New York has been in a state of emergency since Friday, Jan. 23, under the direction of Gov. Kathy Hochul. <\/p>\n \u201cWinter in New York is nothing we can\u2019t handle, but it is important to take the risks that come with extreme cold seriously,\u201d Hochul said on Friday.<\/a> \u201cNew Yorkers should avoid travel during the snow, especially with the danger that comes with being stranded in these cold temperatures. If you must travel, be sure to leave yourself extra travel time and pack your car with supplies like blankets, water, and snacks. Safety is always the top priority, so make sure you are ready to face this storm.\u201d<\/p>\n
