Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have a new project set to premiere in 2026. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are executive producers on the documentary Cookie Queens, according to an announcement on Deadline<\/a>. The film is \u201ca coming-of-age story about the joys, pressures, and pain points woven into one of America\u2019s most cherished rituals: Girl Scout Cookie season.\u201d<\/p>\n

What is Cookie Queens about?<\/p>\n

\u201cCaptivating, candid, and full of heart, the film follows four girls ages 5 to 12 and their families as they navigate the annual whirlwind of selling, striving and succeeding,\u201d reads the press release. \u201cFor these Girl Scouts, selling cookies isn\u2019t just about Thin Mints and sisterhood\u2014it\u2019s a crash course in entrepreneurship. Behind the smiles and cookie boxes lie real pressure: long hours, ambitious sales goals, and the weight of high expectations.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a statement, Meghan reflected on her own time selling cookies as a child.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a former Girl Scout myself, with my mom as my troop leader, I have a personal affinity for this film and am proud that all our conversations and collaboration have led to Archewell Productions partnering with this award-winning team to executive produce this incredibly captivating documentary,\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we first viewed the early footage of this documentary, it was immediately something we wanted to be involved in,\u201d she added. \u201cThe creative point of view, the edgy yet humanizing tone and tenor of the directing, and the glimpse behind-the-scenes into such a nostalgic and also modern tradition of Girl Scout Cookie season are absolutely irresistible.\u201d<\/p>\n

When will the doc premiere?<\/p>\n

The documentary premiered at Sundance in January 2026. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the event in Park City, Utah.<\/p>\n

Speaking to People<\/a> on the red carpet, Meghan shared her favoriteGirl Scout cookie.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a Thin Mints,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s such a classic. And as a Girl Scout, it was always the one that sold the fastest, so I think you remember it for that reason too.\u201d As for the long-debated freezer question, she added, \u201cI don\u2019t know if you\u2019re supposed to, but it\u2019s certainly a nice plus!\u201d<\/p>\n

Where can it be watched?<\/p>\n

The documentary will be up for acquisition after its premiere. However, Meghan and Harry still have a first-look deal<\/a> for film and television projects with Netflix through Archewell Productions.<\/p>\n
