New York City commuters should expect delays on subways, buses and commuter rail lines Monday as the city\u2019s transit system continues to recover from Sunday\u2019s winter storm, MTA Chair and CEO Janno Lieber said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are operating full weekday service on subways, on buses. The commuter rails are operating a robust, although fairly adjusted schedule,\u201d Lieber told “Mornings On 1.”<\/p>\n
He noted that delays are inevitable as crews work to keep lines moving in difficult conditions.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re constantly having to slow service down to keep the switches from freezing up,\u201d he said. \u201cIn these conditions, we are struggling a little bit with personnel who are stuck in New Jersey who can\u2019t get in.\u201d<\/p>\n
Express trains are operating normally during the morning rush, after some overnight local service was necessary, and buses are stopping at every scheduled stop, even when snow piles slow boarding.<\/p>\n
Transit crews worked through the weekend to clear subway entrances, salt stairways and keep lines moving.<\/p>\n
