A family member told TMZ that Gumbel is \u201cOK,\u201d but did not provide any further information on his condition.<\/p>\n<p>During an appearance on \u201cLive with Regis and Kelly\u201d in 2009, Gumbel revealed that he\u2019d been diagnosed with lung cancer and had undergone successful surgery to remove a malignant tumor.<\/p>\n<p>His older brother and fellow sportscaster, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/2024\/12\/27\/greg-gumbel-legendary-cbs-broadcaster-dead-at-78\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Greg Gumbel, died last year<\/a> at age 78.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"TV host Bryant Gumbel is reportedly hospitalized in New York City after experiencing an undisclosed medical emergency.
