The agency took to social media around 9 p.m. to explain the situation: \u201cDEP is excavating to repair a water main break on Spring Street. A temporary shutdown was required to complete the work, and parts of Dongan Hills Colony may experience water service interruptions. Updates to follow.\u201d <\/p>\n

It\u2019s unknown at this time how many residents may be experiencing water service interruptions in the area.<\/p>\n
DEP employees were at the location late Monday afternoon as water could be seen steadily cascading down Spring Street onto nearby Richmond Road. <\/p>\n
