{"id":113617,"date":"2026-01-27T05:24:17","date_gmt":"2026-01-27T05:24:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/113617\/"},"modified":"2026-01-27T05:24:17","modified_gmt":"2026-01-27T05:24:17","slug":"fatal-snowmobile-accident-in-town-of-lyonsdale-saturday-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/113617\/","title":{"rendered":"Fatal snowmobile accident in Town of Lyonsdale Saturday night"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">LYONSDALE, New York (WWNY) &#8211; A Albany-area man was killed Saturday evening after he was struck by a truck on his snowmobile, the Lewis County Sheriff\u2019s Office said in a press release. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Joseph Harrington, 56, was snowmobiling in the Town of Lyonsdale around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, when a pickup truck on Marmon Road struck Harrington, who died on the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Sheriff\u2019s Office said Harrington failed to stop at a stop sign before entering the road, and an investigation is ongoing. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Lewis County Sheriffs were assisted on the scene by Boonville Ambulance, Port Leyden Ambulance, Lewis County Search and Rescue, Port Leyden Fire Department, Lyons Falls Fire Department, and Unlimited Collision.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 WWNY.
