Cunard\u2019s iconic Queen Mary 2 completed her historic first transit through the Panama Canal on Monday, 26th January, marking a major milestone in her 2026 World Voyage.<\/p>\n
Guests travelling aboard the 108-night journey around the world were treated to a rare moment as Queen Mary 2 began her historic passage through the canal\u2019s new set of locks on Saturday, 24th January.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Following an overnight stay at the Cocoli Mooring Station, the ship continued her transit and passed under the remarkable Bridge of Americas on Sunday, 25th January.<\/p>\n
Cunard president Katie McAlister remarked on the occasion: \u201cAs the world\u2019s only ocean liner, Queen Mary 2\u2019s maiden transit through the Panama Canal marks another extraordinary milestone for Cunard. A historic return<\/p>\n
Following the transit, Queen Mary 2 will visit Fuerte Amador, Panama for an overnight stay and Manzanillo, Mexico, before arriving in Los Angeles on 2nd February.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Queen Mary 2\u2019s arrival in Southern California will mark a long-anticipated return after 17 years as she completes this remarkable leg of her world voyage.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The vessel will also celebrate a reunion with her legendary namesake, The Queen Mary, for the first time in 20 years.<\/p>\n
