The forecast remains highly fluid this far out, however.<\/p>\n<p>THE SCENARIOS<\/p>\n<p>A large-scale cold pattern continues to dominate much of the eastern United States following the high-impact winter weather on Sunday and Monday, and that background setup can sometimes support additional storm development along the East Coast. <\/p>\n<p>Some long-range scenarios loosely resemble a Miller Type A system \u2013 a classic coastal storm that forms in the southern U.S. and tracks northward, occasionally bringing widespread precipitation if conditions align.<\/p>\n<p>\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/leannemiller.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been over 10 years since we\u2019ve seen back-to-back storms, so this week is going to be very important,\u201d News 12 meteorologists Michelle Powers said. \u201cStaying with News 12 will be key as we continue to learn more about this weekend\u2019s potential and fine-tune the forecast.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>TIME WILL TELL<\/p>\n<p>At this distance, even small shifts in the jet stream could dramatically change the outcome \u2014 ranging from snow or mixed precipitation to a weaker system or even a complete miss.
