STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Pete Davidson<\/a> is officially in his podcast era.<\/p>\n

During an appearance Monday on \u201cThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,\u201d the Staten Island native shared new details about \u201cThe Pete Davidson Show,\u201d a new weekly Netflix video podcast premiering this Friday. <\/p>\n

True to form, he\u2019s doing it his way: no prep, no studio and absolutely no set dressing.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were like, \u2018Would you like to go to a studio?\u2019\u201d Davidson told Fallon. \u201cI was like, \u2018Can I do it in my garage?\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n

Rather than polishing things up, he opted for two La-Z-Boys and \u201ca high school background class photo,\u201d a decision he admits he regretted once Fallon pulled out a picture of Davidson\u2019s set.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t realize I should have put more effort into it,\u201d he laughed, before Fallon joked about the recliners barely being able to recline in the cramped space. \u201cThere\u2019s been some issues.\u201d<\/p>\n

The podcast, which will stream exclusively on Netflix, marks Davidson\u2019s fourth collaboration with the platform and his first venture into the podcast space.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were looking for someone who didn\u2019t have one yet, and I was like, \u2018Sure. I\u2019ll be the test bunny,\u2019\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Davidson\u2019s approach to the show is intentionally loose, telling Fallon there\u2019s no prep, no notes and no formal structure. As soon as a guest arrives, the cameras will roll.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy whole take on the podcast was it would be so cool to just the second they get there, start recording, and then you just talk and then see what happens,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The debut episode, streaming Friday, features Colson Baker (Machine Gun Kelly), with Charlamagne The God following next week.<\/p>\n

For Davidson, the podcast doubles as an excuse to slow down and reconnect with friends.<\/p>\n
