PENN YAN, N.Y. (WENY) \u2014 The New York State Sheriff’s Summer Camp is looking to build a new year-round building on its grounds in Penn Yan.<\/p>\n

According to the New York State Sheriff\u2019s Institute, the proposed 8,000 square foot building will give kids who attend the summer camp a more enjoyable experience. The facility will also function as a wellness and training center for first responders across the state in the fall, winter and spring.<\/p>\n

Officials called the project \u201ca place of hope and healing\u201d. The camp is looking for donations to help make this building a reality.
