The Royals have since dropped seven straight games, including 63-60 at North Alabama and 77-64 at West Georgia in last week’s action. Guard Ana Barreto (10.4 ppg) is coming off a 21-point performance against the Wolves and ranks fourth in the ASUN in total 3-pointers made (44). Guard Jermany Mapp (10.2 ppg) has scored in double figures in five straight games.

ABOUT WEST GEORGIA

West Georgia has been the surprise of the ASUN. Picked to finish 10th in the ASUN preseason coaches’ poll, the Wolves (13-6, 6-2) are currently in second place in the league. Before meeting Bellarmine, UWG will have a crucial showdown Thursday with conference leader Eastern Kentucky, which is undefeated in ASUN play (8-0). Last week, the Wolves dropped an 87-66 contest at Central Arkansas but regrouped for a 77-64 home win over Queens. West Georgia boasts the second-highest scoring offense in the league (73.7) along with the top field-goal percentage (44.0) and 3-point percentage (35.1). The Wolves unleash a three-pronged scoring terror in forward Jasmine Jones (15.2 ppg), guard Asia Donald (14.5 ppg) and guard Sydne Tolbert (14.1 ppg), who are three of the conference’s top seven scoring leaders. UWG defeated Bellarmine 106-65 in this season’s first matchup Jan. 3 in Louisville.

KNIGHTS NOTES

• Sophomore forward Kayce Hyman registered a team-high 14 points in the first matchup against Queens.
