In 2004, when Queen Mary (then Mary Elizabeth Donaldson of Australia) wed King Frederik, then the Crown Prince, she wore an antique tiara gifted to her by her in-laws, Queen Margrethe<\/a> and Prince Henrik. The provenance of the tiara has never been revealed, according to The Court Jeweller<\/a>. It features fleur-de-lis and scroll motifs and can be converted into a necklace.<\/p>\n

She has since worn the tiara on many occasions, including Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco\u2019s wedding in 2011, a gala dinner celebrating Queen Beatrix\u2019s abdication in 2013, and a state visit of from King and Queen of the Netherlands to Denmark in 2015.<\/p>\n

Last night, for the state banquet at St Nicholas\u2019 Church in Tallinn, Queen Mary paired her wedding tiara with a midnight blue Prada gown she has owned for over a decade.<\/p>\n

The Denmark royal couple\u2019s state visit to Estonia concludes today, and they will head to Lithuania, where another state dinner is scheduled to take place\u2014which means another possible tiara moment from Queen Mary this evening.<\/p>\n

Per the Danish royal house<\/a>, the two state visits \u201cwill reaffirm the longstanding and close relations between Denmark and Estonia and Lithuania, which are not only based on geographical proximity, but also on a set of strong shared values. The visits will help to underscore the joint European commitment and the continuing support for Ukraine.\u201d<\/p>\n
