Kathy Hochul, flags on all state government buildings will be flown at half-staff on Friday in honor of Retired New York State Police Major Frank J. Keyser<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"DA7SRFENZNASXPJDFF4YSFDI7U\">Major Keyser died on Jan. 11 from an illness linked to his assignment in and around Ground Zero in the wake of the terrorist attack on Sept. 11, 2001.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"76NPZZRDONB4RDUSXBPTYOW2TQ\">\u201cToday, we honor Major Keyser and his dedication to protecting his fellow New Yorkers immediately following the 9\/11 terrorist attacks and throughout his decades-long career in law enforcement,\u201d Hochul said. \u201cAs we lower flags in remembrance of his life and service, I am sending my deepest condolences to Major Keyser\u2019s family and loved ones.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"WK4QL44GFVEMHNW2Q26DMAWX7U\">Major Keyser retired from the New York State Police on Nov. 30, 2020, after 34 years of service to the people of New York.
