Brian May<\/a> has said Queen<\/a> refuse to tour in the US, reasoning that the country is a \u201cdangerous place\u201d.<\/p>\n

The legendary band last hit the road in North America in 2023<\/a>, as part of their \u201cambitious\u201d \u2018Rhapsody Tour\u2019<\/a> with Adam Lambert<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, May ruled out a live return to the States any time soon during a new interview with the Daily Mail<\/a>. \u201cAmerica is a dangerous place at the moment, so you have to take that into account,\u201d the guitarist explained.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on how the US had changed since Queen first visited in their early days, May continued: \u201cIt\u2019s very sad because I feel like Queen grew up in America and we love it, but it\u2019s not what it was.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone is thinking twice about going there at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

The musician\u2019s comments come amid a troubling period in the US. Many artists and figures from the entertainment world have spoken out recently, as protests continue against the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).<\/p>\n

The deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti at the hands of ICE agents, in particular, have triggered outrage across the States. ICE has described its highly controversial actions in Minnesota as \u201cthe largest mass deportation operation in American history\u201d.<\/p>\n

Celebrities who have condemned ICE and President Donald Trump<\/a> include Billie Eilish<\/a>, Sabrina Carpenter<\/a>,\u00a0Green Day<\/a>,\u00a0Neil Young<\/a>,\u00a0Moby<\/a>,\u00a0Zara Larsson<\/a>,\u00a0musician and\u00a0Stranger Things\u00a0star Joe Keery<\/a>,\u00a0Spider-Man\u00a0actor Yuri Lowenthal<\/a>,\u00a0Duran Duran, Dave Matthews and more<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,\u00a0Bruce Springsteen has shared a new single, \u2018Streets Of Minneapolis\u2019, in tribute to the city<\/a>, and in protest against Trump and ICE.\u00a0Billy Bragg has also released a track, \u2018City Of Heroes\u2019, in \u201ctribute to the bravery of the people of Minneapolis\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In 2020, Queen said they were in an \u201cuphill battle\u201d to stop Trump from using their music in his election campaign<\/a>. The group had blocked the POTUS from using their hit \u2018We Will Rock You\u2019 in 2019<\/a>, and previously locked horns with Trump in 2016<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, May said earlier this month that Queen would not headline Glastonbury Festival \u201cbecause of the politics of the people who run it\u201d<\/a>. He cited founder Michael Eavis\u2019 support of badger culling over the years.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnless that changes, I won\u2019t do it,\u201d May continued.<\/p>\n

He revealed last autumn that Queen had worked on some new material with Lambert<\/a>, and said they had considered bringing their live show to The Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada. \u201c\u200aI\u2019m very keen on the Sphere,\u201d May explained. \u201cIt\u2019s got my mind working.\u201d<\/p>\n

May\u2019s wife Anita Dobson implied last month that, despite Queen working on new music, it was unlikely that they would resume full-scale touring<\/a>. \u201cThey will do little bits and bobs, but they\u00a0won\u2019t\u00a0do those big tours,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

May suffered a minor stroke in 2024<\/a>, which he said came on \u201call of a sudden, out of the blue\u201d. He explained that it left him without any control over one of his arms, and described it as \u201ca little scary\u201d. Last November, May said his health issues had served as a \u201cwake-up call\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Over the Christmas period, Queen released a never-before-heard festive song, \u2018Not For Sale (Polar Bear)\u2019<\/a>. The band were named as the UK\u2019s most-played rock act of the 21st century back in October<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Queen\u2019s \u2018Rhapsody Tour\u2019 came to the UK and Europe in 2022<\/a>.
