FOLEY SQUARE, Manhattan (PIX11) \u2013 Protesters are expected to fill New York City streets on Friday in a national shutdown against immigration enforcement and ICE<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Organizers have asked people to stay home from work or school and not to spend money. Immigration activists are holding a protest in Foley Square at 4 p.m. to bring attention to the ongoing actions of ICE and Customs and Border Protection \u2013 including the fatal shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti<\/a> in Minneapolis.<\/p>\n

Protesters will call on lawmakers to pass the New York For All Act, which would \u201cstop state and local law enforcement and government agencies from colluding with ICE, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and all federal agencies conducting civil immigration enforcement.\u201d<\/p>\n

Businesses across Minnesota shuttered last Friday in protest of ICE. More \u201cNo Kings\u201d marches<\/a> will also be held across the U.S. in March.<\/p>\n
