Queen<\/a> guitarist Brian May<\/a> doesn\u2019t see his legendary band playing any US shows in the near future, declaring that \u201cAmerica is a dangerous place at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

As it is, the iconic UK band, which has performed under the moniker Queen + Adam Lambert since 2011, hasn\u2019t played a show in nearly two years, with their most recent concert a February 2024 gig in Tokyo. The 78-year-old May hasn\u2019t ruled out further Queen concerts but insists, as of now, they won\u2019t be in the United States.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmerica is a dangerous place at the moment, so you have to take that into account,\u201d the guitarist told the Daily Mail<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s very sad because I feel like Queen grew up in America and we love it, but it\u2019s not what it was. Everyone is thinking twice about going there at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

While May didn\u2019t give any specific example of the dangers in America, ICE raids and deadly clashes with protestors have been making worldwide headlines in recent weeks.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, back in September, May revealed that Queen were having conversations about a potential residency<\/a> at the futuristic Sphere venue in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

May also added that his band would never play England\u2019s famed Glastonbury Festival, accusing the organizers of animal-rights violations.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wouldn\u2019t do Glastonbury next year because of the politics of the people who run it, unless that changes, I won\u2019t do it,\u201d May insisted. \u201cThey like killing badgers, and they think it\u2019s for sport and that\u2019s something I cannot support because we\u2019ve been trying to save these badgers for years, and they are still being killed for years, so that\u2019s the reason we\u2019re missing out on it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The veteran rocker is referring to a practice of killing or trapping badgers in the UK in order to stop the spread of disease among farms and cattle.
