MANHATTAN \u2013 POLICE ARE WORKING to \u201cbring closure\u201d to the parents of missing Long Island boy Thomas Medlin, age 15, after reviewing security footage from the Manhattan Bridge captured on Jan. 9, the date of his disappearance, the New York Post reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Thomas had left his school on Long Island at around 3 p.m. that day and had taken a train to Grand Central Station. He was last seen by security cameras on the Manhattan Bridge\u2019s pedestrian walkway at 7:06 p.m., while his phone last pinged a cell tower at 7:09 p.m. A different security camera recorded a splash in the river at 7:10 p.m., Suffolk County police said on Wednesday. Police said he was not recorded leaving the bridge, and that there is no indication of criminal activity.<\/p>\n

The teenager\u2019s parents appeared on television on Tuesday asking for help finding their son. The investigation is still attempting to learn why Thomas came to the city; it was initially believed he was meeting a friend from an online game.<\/p>\n
