NEW YORK (PIX11) \u2014 Thousands are expected to gather for protests across the country<\/a> as part a nationwide strike against ICE on Friday.<\/p>\n

The action, called \u201cICE Out\u201d comes as a response to federal agents shooting and killing<\/a> Minneapolis residents Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti in January.<\/p>\n

To stand in solidarity with protesters in Minneapolis, organizers are calling on residents in other cities to not shop and not attend work or school on Friday for the nationwide strike.<\/p>\n

Protesters will call on lawmakers to pass the New York For All Act<\/a>, which would \u201cstop state and local law enforcement and government agencies from colluding with ICE, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and all federal agencies conducting civil immigration enforcement.\u201d<\/p>\n
