NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) \u2014 More bus lane cameras<\/a> are coming to New York City this month to crack down on drivers using them illegally.<\/p>\n

The newest round of MTA cameras will be installed on the Bx22, M96, M116, and Bx2 bus routes in Manhattan and the Bronx. The 60-day warning period is set to begin on Monday.<\/p>\n

Any vehicles found using busways and bus lanes, blocking bus stops, or illegally double-parked will receive warning notices in the mail for an initial period of 60 days, followed by summonses afterwards. Summonses start at $50 and escalate to $250 for repeat violators.<\/p>\n

These cameras mark the latest edition to the MTA\u2019s Automated Camera Enforcement program<\/a>. Since its launch last year June, 43 bus routes throughout the five boroughs have been equipped with the cameras.<\/p>\n
