The Manhattan High boys struggled to keep up versus a balanced and talented Blue Valley team, falling on the road to the Tigers, 71-48.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Indians were held to just two buckets in the first quarter, and trailed 13-5.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In the second, Manhattan’s scoring ramped up, but the deficit stayed at eight points as Blue Valley took a 27-19 lead into the break.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Tigers doubled that lead in the third quarter, jumping ahead 47-31 heading in to the final period.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Indians deficit passed the 20-point mark midway through the fourth quarter.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Will Carpenter and Vince Doering carried the majority of the scoring burden for the Indians. Carpenter put up 30 points followed by 12 for Doering.\u00a0<\/p>\n
For Blue Valley, Enoch Rodriguez led the way, scoring 22 points, including seven 3-pointers. Brendan Walsh had 18 points and Parker Seithel scored 16.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Indians will hit the road next week to play Great Bend on Tuesday before returning to home on Friday for a league game versus Emporia.\u00a0<\/p>\n
