Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced Friday, Jan. 30, that a Pennsylvania man has been indicted on attempted murder<\/a> in the second degree and related charges for shooting a man in the head while he was working at an Allerton gas station, as reported<\/a> at the time.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe defendant allegedly opened the door of the victim\u2019s office and shot him in the head,\u201d Clark said. \u201cAlthough the victim miraculously survived the attack, he will face unimaginable challenges for the rest of his life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The district attorney said the defendant, Termaine Saulsbury, 42, of Philadelphia, PA, was arraigned Jan. 29, on attempted murder in the second degree, first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of second-degree assault, and criminal possession of a firearm by Bronx Supreme Court Justice George Villegas. She said the defendant continues to be held in custody, and is due back in court in April.<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, and as reported<\/a>\u00a0at the time, on Nov. 22, 2022, at around 7 p.m., inside a gas station at 2290 Boston Road, Saulsbury went to the station\u2019s office, opened the door, and immediately shot a 59-year-old man who was working there in the head one time, piercing his skull. He then fled the scene, and the victim underwent multiple surgeries and was put on a ventilator and feeding tube for several months.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors said the defendant was discovered in Pennsylvania after he was arrested, later pleaded guilty to shooting a Philadelphia parking authority officer, and was extradited to New York to face charges in the Bronx case.<\/p>\n

The case is being prosecuted by Paul Irace, senior trial assistant in Trial Bureau 60, under the supervision of Michael Schordine, deputy chief of trial bureau 60 and Susanna Imbo, chief of trial bureau 60, and under the overall supervision of James Brennan, deputy chief of the trial division, and Theresa Gottlieb, chief of the trial division.<\/p>\n

Clark thanked Jasmine Rosas, trial preparation supervisor, Joao D\u2019Alessandro, video unit director, and Bronx District Attorney Detective Investigators Abubacarr Keita and Gino Vieira for their assistance with the case.<\/p>\n

She also thanked NYPD Lieutenant Christopher Crain, retired NYPD Detective Eric Reynolds and NYPD Officer Benjamin Bayan of the 49th\u00a0Precinct for their work on the investigation.<\/p>\n
