A landmark Albertson eatery, Vincent\u2019s Restaurant & Pizzeria, has closed after a decades-long run on Willis Avenue. A recorded message on the shop’s phone line cites the “expiration of our\u00a0lease.” The owner could not be reached for comment.<\/p>\n

The pizzeria,\u00a0at 1004 Willis Ave.,\u00a0has been around since at least 1978.\u00a0Cliff Sondock, a director of leasing at Spiegel Associates, landlords of the Albertson Shopping Center, said the space is available.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s the end of a really long history but there\u2019s a tremendous amount of interest in the space and we\u2019re very optimistic that there will be a quick turnaround once we start marketing the space again,” Sondock said.<\/p>\n

Vincent’s was an old-school pizzeria serving\u00a0classic Sicilian pizza ($23 for a pie) as well as specialty pies like chicken alla vodka pie ($28.95) and barbecue chicken pizza\u00a0($26.95). There\u00a0were hero sandwiches such as chicken cutlet Milanese ($12) and grilled chicken with broccoli rabe ($13.50) besides specialty pastas and seafood entrees.<\/p>\n

The shop’s outgoing message prompts customers holding gift certificates to email\u00a0sophiaphung6@gmail.com for redemption.<\/p>\n
